So we finally took the plunge and ordered the materials for our retaining walls. There was a little bit of a delay in delivery as the Appin Stonemill were experiencing difficulty with their machines, but the time went rather quick and everything was delivered faster than expected.
Mark has started putting down the base to begin laying the blocks but it was kind of depressing seeing him dig all of the solid rock out for the trenches and only fill them back up again. I know it's for a reason and our walls will be alot sturdier this way.

After getting married in March 2009, my brand new husband and I are building our first home together. We are soo excited to be able to share this experience with each other and can't wait to start making new memories after our home is built.....
Now, almost 10 months later, after moving into our home and whilst frantically completing our much needed jobs around the house, I embark on a brand new journey. My health. It seems that the stresses involved in building and the contentment that is attatched to marital bliss has allowed me to let my health and fitness slip by the wayside. My new journey is one of health and wellbeing. Where I may learn more about my passion, nutrition, and maybe lose a few extra kilos in the meantime.
Awesome progress, i think you would have a smile on your face everyday ...
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, what maker and how much did you get your retaining blocks for (if you don't mind me asking).
Also are there many people who have spare bricks around developing areas such as spring farm?
Cheers
